Congratulations to our 2023 ISSMA Performers!

Congratulations to the band and orchestra students that performed at ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest on February 4th, 2023. Students prepared music, performed for judges, and were scored on a 9-point rubric.

Judges can award students with Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Participation ratings.

54 Schmucker students received Gold ratings for solo performances and 2 students received Silver ratings.

90 Schmucker students received Gold ratings for ensemble performances and 4 received Silver ratings.

2022 Middle School Instrument Selection Nights

Every P-H-M 5th grader who will be attending a P-H-M middle school as an incoming 6th grader in the Fall 2022 has the opportunity to join an instrumental music class, which includes either band or orchestra. 

“Instrument Selection Night” is when students and families get to make their choice!

 

Incoming 6th graders can go to any of the 6 Instrument Selection Nights to try out instruments:

 

High school/middle school choirs to perform free Viva Voce concert on Wednesday, Nov. 3

The Penn High School choir and Discovery, Grissom and Schmucker Middle School choirs will perform a free Viva Voce concert at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, in the Penn Center for the Performing Arts.

 

Penn's Viva Voce will perform 7 pieces together, including a medley from Nightmare Before Christmas. The middle school choirs will perform three songs together, and then all of the choirs will join together for the final two songs, one of which is entitled "Sisi Ni Moja" which translates to "We Are One."
