Schmucker Middle School Holds Veterans Day Celebration

Schmucker Middle School held its Veterans Day celebration on Friday, November 14. The event was originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, but a snowfall that morning caused a two hour delay, prompting the school to move the program to the end of the week.

Local veterans filled the cafeteria as the 8th grade band, orchestra, and choirs performed a selection of patriotic music. Veterans connected to students were invited as special guests and were seated in a place of honor.

Toward the end of the program, students who have relatives that served or are currently serving in the military presented their veterans with red flowers as a thank you for their service. It was a meaningful moment that highlighted the pride and gratitude shared by the entire Schmucker community.

The celebration provided students and staff with an opportunity to reflect on the importance of Veterans Day and to recognize the sacrifices made by those who have served our country.
