Saturday, March 12th, Schmucker's VEX Robotics Team 775Z participated in the Indiana State VEX Robotics Tournament. They were one of 24 middle school teams invited to participate from around the state.
The team performed well as they finished qualifying in 11th place. They won their elimination match in the round of 16 before being eliminated in the quarter-finals.
The team consisted of 8th graders: Gavin Jozwiak, Cash Reynolds, Maddie Richardson, Shania Roy, and Landon Willis.
At the tournament, Schmucker's robotics coach, Matt Reininga, was named Indiana's Middle School Robotics Mentor of the Year for 2021-22.
