NJHS will be collecting money for The Kilted Cops/Ronald McDonald House the week of Sept. 23-27. Each advisory room will receive a collection "bucket". An NJHS student will be collecting the money each day that week during 6th hour. Please encourage your students to donate to this worthy cause throughout the day! This is a grade level competition...the winning grade will get lunch outside one day! SMS has a long standing relationship with the RM House, so we are excited to work toward our school wide goal of $1000!

On Saturday, Feb. 2, Schmucker's VEX Robotics team 775, the SpartanBots, competed at a tournament in Plymouth.
Our 4 teams, 775S, 775X, 775Y, and 775Z had a great day! The tournament was a blended middle school/ high school tournament. Out of the 53 teams in attendance, there were 12 middle school teams and 41 high school teams.
Our teams finished the qualifying part of the tournament this morning ranked 16th, 18th, 35th, and 42nd. This is great, considering our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders were competing against some teams of juniors and seniors!

Perfect spellers were Sobia Ahmed, Sakina Al-Fadhl, Ansar Fitwi, Alex Birong, and Matias Dahl. Ashley Oh, Inas Heryadi, and Tasneem Ahmed also competed.
Olliver Broecker traveled with the team as an alternate, and unfortunately Charles Cain couldn’t participate. Coach Dale was very pleased, as 68 out of 72 was well above expectations!
