Language Arts and Math Interim Testing on January 11th

Language Arts & Math Interim Testing: On January 11th, all students will be taking the language arts and math interim assessments on ClearSight in a virtual format. Students will take the language arts assessment starting at 9:30 AM and the math assessment at 12:30 PM. During the week prior to the assessments, language arts and math teachers will provide instructions to students on how to access and complete the assessments from home. If your child has any questions, feel free to have them reach out to their language arts or math teacher.

Learn a Foreign Language Academy, June 8-26, 2020

Learn a Foreign Language Academy (June 8 – 26, 2020) 

This three-week academy is open to current 6th and 7th graders.  The course will be taught by Penn High School Language teachers who will teach the students how to read, write, and speak in French or Spanish.  This year the academy will be in June and held at Schmucker Middle School.

Intro to Swahili

Sixth grade choir students got a rare treat today. Thanks to a friend of choir teacher Ms. Carla Wisler’s, students studying world music were able to get a literal, “hands on” lesson in Swahili.

 

China Trip Meeting Friday, Jan. 17, 7:30 AM

The China Excursion is open to any students currently enrolled in 6th or 7th grade at Discovery, Grissom, or Schmucker. If you are interested in learning more about this experience and itinerary, please plan on attending an informational meeting in the Discovery Middle School LGI. The meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 17 at 7:30 am.

Please park in the west staff parking lot, between Discovery and Horizon.

Students pay tribune to Veterans in 2019 Veterans Day Program

Schmucker Middle School has a long tradition of having the 8th grade class organize and lead the school’s annual Veterans Day Program. The Spartan Choir, led by Mrs. Donna Hipsher), Band (led by Mr. Jeff Carnall and Ms. Kristen Hills) and Orchestra (led by Mrs. Dodi Carnall) all perform for the veterans and special guests. Students honor veteran family members, friends or neighbors by recognizing them with flowers. Click to see the photo gallery below.

Unified Sports
This is the first year that Penn High School has participated in the Unified Sports Program. Come meet the Head Coach of the Unified Sports Program, Mr. Bennett Blazo. He will be sharing an update on the team, highlight some of the best moments of our team’s experience, and answer any questions about the program.
