Schmucker National Junior Honor Society sponsored a weeklong donation drive (Sept. 18-22) to help the people in Texas and Florida after the catastrophic hurricanes, Harvey and Irma, hit earlier this month.

School wide students were asked to bring in items such as cleaning products, baby items, canned food, toiletries, and school supplies. Students collected enough items to fill 30 boxes. The items were collected for Feed the Hungry, an organization committed to helping the people affected by the hurricanes.

Schmucker then partnered with a local business, Adams Remco, who was also collecting donations this week. On Monday, Sept. 25, NJHS students loaded the collected items into an Adams Remco truck that came to the school to collect the donations. The truck will deliver the donated items to the Feed the Hungry organization.

We are very proud of our students for showing compassion and participating in this worthwhile community service.
